Gear Savvy

These reviews come from over a decade of testing gear in all seasons and all weather conditions. As a wilderness survival instructor for people of all ages I have seen a lot of ideas and products over the years; some were brilliant, creative, unique, and effective, and the others... not so much. What you will find here are unique and tested options that you can take with you on your next outing.

About Me

My photo
Kevin
When I was 19 years old (in 1999) most of my friends were going into college but not me. As a pathfinder I started attending wilderness schools in search of purpose, healing, and connection. That journey lasted about 10 years and brought me to nearly every state in the continental United States. I attended week-long and 9-month long courses absorbing as much as I could. Today, I run a Forest School that I started back in 2003. We reach over 300 kids each year, all-year round. I've taught classes for all ages to people from many walks of life. This blog is here to share what I've learned.
